Why Am I Not Seeing Results?

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

I’ve been eating so well & training ALL WEEK, why haven’t I seen results?

Patience.

Nobody has it anymore and I personally think we could all do with having a bit more of it.

We are the product of ALL OUR DECISIONS up to this date, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW.

Think about that.

Really think about it.

Now, from a body composition perspective (the shape of your body, essentially how lean you are or how much fat you have stored), let’s remember – WE DID NOT GET TO WHERE WE ARE RIGHT NOW OVER NIGHT.

So WHY do we expect it to be different on the flip side.

Maybe you’ve noticed you have gone up a dress size or two over the last two years? (Nothing wrong with that by the way if you are happy)

But why do you expect to get back to the dress size in 6 or 12 weeks?

We get frustrated when we don’t see results straight away, week on week, but let’s be realistic here, it has probably taken us quite a few years to get to the place we are at.

Now, whether that be a place you are proud of with your body (and your mind) or not is irrelevant.

The point of this is to show that change takes TIME and CONSISTENCY and that requires PATIENCE.

We mere mortals are evolutionarily predisposed to the path of least resistance. Let’s throw in the inability to sway towards delayed gratification and you can 100% see why many of us give up before we even get going.

Like anything in life, if it’s worth having, it probably won’t come too easy (unless you win the lotto)

Same goes for a FAT (not weight, cause what we ‘weigh’ is irrelevant really) loss journey.

It doesn’t need to be complicated though (if you have all the required information or a good coach/nutritionist) and you shouldn’t be going hungry.

You can do the quick fixes and the crash diets and the juicing if you want. (If you also want to be starving & miserable) but if it hasn’t worked up till now, WHY do you think it’ll work this time?

IT WORKS but it is NOT SUSTAINABLE.

And in my honest opinion if it isn’t sustainable then does it really ‘work?’

I educate & empower my clients so that they can make better lifestyle choices. I give guidance and advise but I do not tell them what exactly to eat every day!

Teach a man to fish and all that jazz.

If I tell them exactly what to eat for 6 weeks but they have NO IDEA why they are doing it, after the 6 weeks is up, what have they learnt?

I have clients who have dropped dress sizes and more importantly maintained it while enjoying the sh** out of life.

Life is about balance.

But just be patient, with anything you wish to achieve, give it time, and don’t give up at the first hurdle!

What you are looking for might just be right around the corner, but you’ll never know if you give up!
